CEFPI FOUNDATION NAMES NEW TRUSTEES

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of David D. Garner, Robert A. Henry and Richard K. Strauss to the Board of Trustees.

David D. Garner, Lewis and Roca, Phoenix, Arizona, is a member of the firms' commercial litigation group. His practice includes an emphasis on civil appellate litigation and education law. Prior to joining Lewis and Roca, Mr. Garner served as law clerk to the Honorable Michael D. Ryan of the Arizona Court of Appeals. While in law school at Brigham Young University, he served on the Brigham Young Law Review as lead note and comment editor and was also a teaching assistant for legal research and writing. Mr. Garner received his BA from Brigham Young University as well as his J.D., cum laude. Mr. Garner is fluent in Bulgarian and Serbo-Croatian.

Robert A. Henry, is a partner in Snell & Wilmer, LLP, and co-chair of Snell & Wilmer's hiring committee. His practice is concentrated in civil litigation and general legal counsel regarding business operations, with a focus on and particular experience with matters or issues arising out of commercial and real estate transactions, contracts, and relationships. Mr. Henry has extensive experience in both state and federal trial courts and in various alternative dispute resolution forums. He represents regional and national corporations, Arizona-based businesses and individuals. A graduate of the University of Michigan and the University of Michigan School of Law, magna cum laude, Mr. Henry served as associate editor of the Michigan Law Review. Prior to his present position, Mr. Henry served as judicial clerk for Vice Chief Justice James Moeller, Arizona Supreme Court.

Richard K. Strauss is founder and co-CEO of United Investment Advisory. Mr. Strauss has spent most of his career on Wall Street as a renowned analyst, covering financial services, and authoring numerous strategic pieces on wealth management. He worked for Goldman Sachs for a decade (1993-03), covering brokers, money center banks, and asset managers. Mr. Strauss' views have been solicited in the IPO and capital raising processes of many asset managers, including Franklin Resources, AMG, BlackRock and Waddell and Reed. He was a Director at Deutsche Bank, following Financial Services (2003-05). Earlier, he was at Salomon Brothers (1989-93), with superregional and regional bank coverage. Mr. Strauss ranked on Institutional Investor's All American Research Team for six straight years (1997-02), earning a top three distinction in 1998,1999, and 2002. He holds both an MBA (1988), cum laude and BA (1984) from Cornell University.

The CEFPI Foundation & Charitable Trust is a non-profit organization established to create and build resources to foster research, scholarly study, projects and other works regarding the impact of school facilities on student achievement and the communities they serve. The CEFPI Foundation endeavors to improve the body of knowledge relating to learning environments and best practices of educational facility planning through stewardship of an endowment of funds and services.
